We have been raising chickens for about ten years.  While we are not experts on all matters chicken, we have learned much over those years and want to share that knowledge with you, so you will be happy with your experience.  Below are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we have been asked. Raising Healthy Chickens

 

A healthy chicken can live 6-10 years depending on the breed.  They are a beautiful addition to the barnyard and a productive member of your homestead if given the right opportunities.  If you begin by purchasing healthy animals, supplying adequate housing without overcrowding, providing proper coop health, good food, and minimal treats, engaging their curious minds with fun things to do, and giving them the opportunity to forage and spend several hours a day outside in the sunshine, you will create an environment to produce and maintain superior chicken health.  This site is designed to help you in all these areas.  Read on so you and your chickens can enjoy a healthy, happy life.
